Bedford Resident Locked Out of Own Apartment Leads to Felony Arrest; Woman Accused of Resisting Officers

A call regarding a persistent verbal argument at a K Street apartment resulted in multiple criminal allegations Monday morning after a woman reportedly locked a resident out of his own home and engaged in a physical struggle with responding officers. At approximately 8:51 a.m. on May 4, 2026, Bedford Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of K Street. Upon arrival, Officer Steven Hatton Jr. was met by a resident who reported he had been locked out of his apartment by 34-year-old Kyle L. Laws.

Mitchell Man Arrested After Allegedly Entering Home in Violation of Protection Order ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ 

A Mitchell man is facing a felony residential entry charge after he was allegedly found exiting a local residence where an active protection order was in place. At approximately 2:12 p.m. on May 5, 2026, an officer with the Mitchell Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of South 5th Street regarding a report of an unwanted person. The caller informed dispatch that a man had been "camping out" on the porch and refused to leave the property.
