Warrant Requested for Bedford Woman Accused of Smashed Windshield and Driveway Brawl

A Bedford woman faces criminal misdemeanor charges after sheriff's deputies say she smashed out another woman's car window with a baseball bat during an altercation at an Ozee Farm Road residence.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department has requested an arrest warrant for 43-year-old Natasha Johns of Bedford following an investigation into the late-August disturbance.

The Disturbance on Ozee Farm Road

On August 26, 2026, Lawrence County deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Ozee Farm Road regarding an unwanted guest. The male homeowner reported that a female acquaintance had arrived on the property after previously being told not to come there. Home security footage showed the female visitor standing near her black Audi in the driveway before pulling into the garage to take shelter from an active rainstorm.

However, the homeowner’s ex-wife, identified as Johns, was also on the property with her juvenile son. Johns' attorney later stated that Johns is legally permitted to be at her ex-husband's residence.

Baseball Bat Attack & Driveway Altercation

Upon arrival, deputies located the female visitor and observed extensive damage to her Audi, including a shattered rear windshield and two flattened right-side tires. The woman exhibited visible injuries, including minor facial swelling and marks consistent with being punched, as well as marks on her arm.

The victim reported that Johns had struck and shattered her rear window with a baseball bat.

Deputies reviewed motion-activated home surveillance footage that captured the incident in segments:

  • Physical Altercation: Cameras recorded the two women actively fighting in the driveway before the struggle spilled over into the front yard.
  • Deflated Tires: The footage also captured Johns' young son deflating the Audi's tires using the valve stems, rather than puncturing them. Deputies confirmed the boy was not harmed or directly involved in the fight.

A wrecker was dispatched to tow the disabled vehicle from the scene. The homeowner agreed to cover the towing fees and offered to pay for the vehicle damages, but requested that the female visitor have no further contact with him and that she be formally trespassed from the property. She was issued a formal trespass warning and provided a ride home by the wrecker driver. The homeowner declined to pursue criminal charges against the visitor for entering the property.

Formal Interview and Admission

On September 10, 2026, investigating officers conducted a formal interview with Johns and her defense attorney at the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.

During the interview, Johns admitted to investigators that she broke the visitor's rear windshield with a baseball bat. Johns stated that she did not know the woman was on the property until she emerged from inside the residence.

Both parties stated that the female visitor initially initiated the physical contact, and Johns confirmed that she had dropped the baseball bat before the dispute turned physical.

Deputies subsequently submitted a probable cause affidavit requesting a warrant for Johns' arrest.

Requested Warrant Charges:

🔹 Criminal Mischief – Pecuniary Loss $750 to $50,000 (Class A Misdemeanor)

🔹 Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury (Class A Misdemeanor)

Case Number: S26-01085

Investigating Officer: Deputy Ryan Paschall, Lawrence County Sheriff's Department
